Foreign Trade Statistics Jan to April

Main developments in Cyprus foreign trade - January to April 2017

The Statistical Service of Cyprus announces the publication of the new, monthly electronic publication: “Intra-Extra EU Trade Statistics (by commodity and country)”, for January-April 2017.

The publication includes detailed quantity and value data on imports and exports of domestically produced goods and foreign goods classified by the 6th digit commodity code and by partner country.

The main developments in Cyprus foreign trade were:

(a) Total imports in January-April 2017 amounted to €2.418,2mn as compared to €1.778,2mn in January- April 2016. Total exports in January- April 2017 were €761,5mn compared to €1.042,6mn in January- April 2016. The trade deficit was €1.656,7mn in January- April 2017 compared to €735,6mn in the corresponding period of 2016.

(b) Total exports of domestically produced goods, excluding stores and provisions, in January- April 2017 were €389,7mn compared to €292,2mn in January-April 2016. Total domestic exports of industrial products in January- April 2017 were €346,4mn compared to €241,8mn in January-April 2016. Total domestic exports of agricultural products in January- April 2017 were €40,9mn compared to €46,6mn in January- April 2016.
